The Vivarium operates under a three strike rule, and if you know anything about baseball, three strikes and you’re out. A strike is not the definite ban from the community, but a notice that continual bad behavior is seen and noted. Strikes are not given every time, as we try to work under the idea that educating members on their mistakes can help avoid repetition in the future. If certain behaviors are repeated, or large rules are broken (like theft or bullying), we will be less forgiving and add a strike to your record. Depending on the severity of each offense, a discord and/or site suspension may be sentenced, but we understand each situation may require different measures.

Do not fret, for even strikes do not have to spell out your doom, we all make mistakes. Your first strike will permanently leave your record for good behavior after 3 months. However, if you find yourself in trouble again, during this three month span, not only will a second strike be added to your record, but the first strike’s timer is reset to 3 months. Second strikes expire after four months!

Strikes are privately issued to the offending member, and we will always explain why it is being given, and that we will be more watchful of recurring behavior.

We urge our members to report problems and provide screenshot evidence to staff. Staff maintain a log of every report received, no matter how small, to ensure the continued enjoyment of our game and avoid repeat offenses.
