I see you, 'cause you won't get out of my way... - Jaxxon - 5/22/2025

He’d been here before… Somehow, someway he traveled to lands that were so close yet so far away… Thunder rumbled through the sky as lightning could be seen scattering across the dark clouds. The air was thick and a breeze whipped through the woodlands as he made his way through territory that was vaguely familiar, a place he’d been before but couldn’t really remember. A place in his mind that was shrouded in clouds and fog, a grey spread that overtook his memories. Frustrated Jaxxon snorted as he lifted a head to gaze upon the darkness above, his eyebrows furrowed over resonated amber. It was a fluid movement as he soon turned his head towards the wind and took in the deep scents of apples. The crisp fruit overtaking everything as his memories drifted away and his thoughts turned towards something darker. Joxer… He was gone, after his conversation with Nyra he’d finally come to terms with the fact that the leader had vanished and left him in charge... Left him as their Huntsman… Shaking his head the monster bit back a few tears that sprung to his eyes, stinging the orbs as he squinted and choked back a sob, his breast burning with anger and hurt… With a sorrow so deep, the loss of another lover… Jaxxon clamped his jaws shut and bent his head down as he stormed through the wisteria and apples that lay scattered across the ground, another rumble broke his silence as he stormed and tramped through his pain. Laying waste to those pieces of fruit that were becoming mush in his presence. The call of morning doves was the first to stir, accompanied by the distant rumbles of a promising storm. Silver-blue orbs would breach from the darkness and into the morning’s depths. A yawn escaped from her lips, fighting the sleep that dared to lull her back to sleep. She had been worried about the approaching storm delaying their travel, so they would have to wait to see if they could. She crouched forward, gently nudging the male to wake, waiting for him to stir before they would depart the cavern they had been holed in. Her heart was heavy; the feeling of leaving had been harder to bear than she had thought. Perhaps it was because she was holding out for someone that no longer existed. Warwick… A name she could recite in her memories. Saying it aloud would mean she was not over what could have been. Would she truly be over the what-ifs? Years ago, these woodlands were where he had found her… where she had first seen the amber hues set in russet browns. She turned to look at Riptide, and then she recounted the others who were now a part of her family. Francis… she had left him too long and knew he worried. Moving toward the orchard, she would see a flash of shadows making their way through the treelines. A large behemoth of a man was stalking the forest, heading in the same direction they were. She could almost feel the wrath that radiated through his body. She would look to Riptide, and before he could talk her out of it, she was already making her way to the tormented soul. Her breath hitched, watching a familiar male stomp against the unexpected apples. She frowned visibly, reassuring Riptide that she knew what she was doing. She continued, only a few strides now separated the rampaging demon and the woman who was stupid enough to face him head-on. “Jaxxon?” She called out to him, “Jaxxon is that you?” Funny how they would meet under the same circumstances once again, “What happened?” She expressed her concern, moving until she was now only a paw length away, “It’s okay to be angry, just don’t take it out on the fruit.” She smiled, hoping a little comedy might bring him back out of his rage. She then tilted her head, “Do you remember me?”

A familiar voice... A melodic sound that made him stop and twitch brown audits towards the direction of the twinkle of harmony that broke through his haze and snap out of his thoughts momentarily. Straight to the point the beautiful woman that was scented of the sweetest of scents that tickled his memory. She jested, poking at him a little and made a comment about taking it out on the fruit, and through his whirlwind of thoughts he was able to push a chuckle out of his chest. A deep sound that grated like rolling rocks. Do you remember me...? He did... He remembered her smell, the way she coaxed him from that deep dark place Joxer had sent him to previously... Gods it was always Joxer... Sighing heavily the man walked towards her, a hairs breadth between them, his eyes didn't scan her slender form, that painted lady that stood before him like a beautiful statue... I remember you...Jaxxon told her, a small smile tickling on the edges of his lips, blinking slowly as his eyes still stay hazed over with emotions. She had asked him what was wrong and he couldn't hold it, for some reason he felt oh so comfortable with this woman and he couldn't hold back that torrential downpour of sadness. He's gone... My soul... He left me...Jaxxon sputtered, his eyes flicking to his front paws and stared with glistening amber eyes, unable to meet her gaze currently as he felt his breath hitch with a pitch of sound that was almost painful. |
