Here I stand - Layre - 5/31/2025
There wasn't much that the hardened warrior hadn't seen. But one thing that was new was the vast emptiness. He could breathe here. There were not forced marches and blood and battle. Just quiet woodlands, fair game. Even née wolves were scarce. Oh he could smell them, but he hadn't met any since the one he had fed.
A tilt of tattered ear and he watched as small game lazed in eaves of trees. The air wet and damp. He himself had to shake his shoulders pretty regularly to get the wet drops from his fur.
