Be My Eyes, Guard These Souls - Nóttin - 6/1/2025 OOC: Backdated a few days before Nóttin leaves for Northfall with Dalmatia! Golde Vidarr Since the pack meeting discussing the runes, and the fate of this world, he just couldn't get the thoughts of destruction out of his mind. So he went straight for his comrades within his Pillar, heading first towards Golde's den. It would probably be easier to speak with all of them there, as he didn't want to separate her from the her newest bundles of joy. The other would be his role model, Vidarr. It had been some time since he had seen the great northern wolf. And to be honest, the younger male was a little nervous. Nóttin wasn't sure if he was doing a good job, or if he even deserved the position he was given. All he could do was try his best, and hope that it was enough. A howl emerged from his maw as he made his way to the new mother, letting it ring out so that both Vidarr and Golde could hear him. It was a summons to speak of his departure, and what he needed in his absence. If they were okay with it of course. Being a leader was still so new to him, and it didn't feel good to give out orders. So he would speak to them as he always had, as a friend and confidant. It wasn't in his nature to be controlling, or to act high and mighty. A soft soul the young Dawnbreaker would always be. RE: Be My Eyes, Guard These Souls - Dalmatia - 6/2/2025 skill: herbalist It hadn't been long since the decided departure of her and Nóttin; along with whomever else had decided to go and find runes as well. And since then, Dal had been packing away herbs to go along with them on their venture to Northfall and preparing herself for the journey. Earlier in the day, Nóttin had mentioned visiting the stones of the Courage Pillar; Golde, and Vidarr. So when she heard him call out, she heeded. It took her a little bit to catch up, grabbing something extra out of her den before hopping off after the howl. But, once she arrived, she slipped beside Nóttin with a bundle of herbs in her maw, a gift for Golde once she showed, to aid in her newfound motherhood. She'd known of the mother's new children, but had given space and time for her to nurture them. There was a little bit of hesitance; she didn't want to disturb her and didn't know Golde well enough to intrude on her own account, yet also, curiosity. She did want to meet the children, of course, but it was going to have to wait now. But the thought of spry pups running around lightened her heart. It would be a good thing for all of Dawnbreak to have them around. RE: Be My Eyes, Guard These Souls - Golde - 6/2/2025 Skill:—[0/5]
Motherhood was a challenge on its own—and it was only accentuated when the litter grew limbs which could run and mouths which could speak. Golde found solace in trusting Hexx to ensure their children would not wander too far... in the meantime, she slumbered. Basking in the springtide sun, resting her chin against the soft grass.
Her ear twitched, however, at the howl. Of Nóttin—a familiar call, from her superior. And like clockwork, she rose, padding from the densite towards the source of the sound. It wasn't a long hike. Which, perhaps, is why Eidel had managed to follow along, much to her annoyance. Golde huffed quietly and sat before the couple. Forgive me, I couldn't stop her if I tried. The mother kept her paw around the small pup, keeping her trapped against her body. A solemn expression rested upon the scout's visage. Is everything alright with you two?She glanced at Dalmatia, then at her lover. Things were tense with the world's changes. The odd mysteries that popped up from every corner of the Vale. Golde had kept herself pointedly uninvolved—the children were more than enough of a challenge to deal with. Yet, she kept acutely aware of the updates. Lips pursed, she listened for whatever her Pillar had to announce. RE: Be My Eyes, Guard These Souls - Eidel - 6/2/2025 Skill: Herbalist[1/5]
There was a strange call on the other side of their home, and Mama followed it with a sense of sternness she'd never seen before. Eidel's ears perked—something serious, something really serious!!
She'd been withheld from joining the pack meeting, being told it was serious business. This time, she would not let Mama tell her what to do. Adamant growls and stubborn yelps finally led Golde to relent—as though she weren't throwing a temper tantrum only moments before, Eidel happily skipped along the path. Toddled steps followed after Golde's long limbs, occasionally tripping and tumbling around—though not without quick recovery. The mother finally halted before two figures—one tall, broad, the other short and thin: just like Mama! The smaller one held plants within her jaws, and Eidel's tail immediately flew around by her rump. She's got leaves, Mama, why?The inquiry was met with no answer, and instead, a paw around her middle to keep her pressed into the mother's soft pelt—much to her chagrin. Eidel squirmed and whined, eyes like golden saucers fixed on Dalmatia's herbs, trying to escape from the mother's hold. RE: Be My Eyes, Guard These Souls - Vidarr - 6/3/2025 Skill: ? It was imperative for them all that they keep a watch-out for one another. With the way that the world was threatening to break apart, somehow it made Vidarr a touch more prone to....well, not panic, just.....be overly concerned. So hearing the unexpected call in the middle of the day had Vidarr moving as quickly as he could - he had not been present when they had needed him most for Genghis, and he wouldn't fail them now. He'd barely barked out an 'I'll be back!' to Hilde before he'd taken off. If Vidarr had slowed down just slightly and process the very specific call for himself and for Golde from Nottin, it wouldn't have been so alarming. Maybe he would even have had a casual entrance after he actually heard it. Instead, he'd all but broken onto the scene, big bodied and foolish, before he realized that there was no scent of blood, no touch of adrenaline in the air, there was nothing. Nothing but his friends - even family at that point. Things were as okay as they could be, given the tumultuous energy of the world. You um...He winced as he swung his gaze from wolf to wolf before landing on the littlest one pinned by it's mother. - ah, Hæ þar, litla krútt . Forgive my sudden approach.Later if the adults wanted to discuss thing, he would have been fine to explain his concern. That was a conversation best suited past little ears, though. Why dredge up the darker parts of the world before theyd even have a chance to enjoy or explore them? RE: Be My Eyes, Guard These Souls - Nóttin - 6/3/2025 Like clockwork, the others had heard his call and had come running without fail. Dalmatia had kept close as well, standing beside him with some herbs clamped gently in her maw. Golde was the first to appear, a child at her side. One of the large bundle that had quite the fire inside of her. Golde, thank you for coming. And no worries, I love to see the little ones.Nóttin gave a soft smile to both the mother and the young pup. Hi there, young one. It's nice to meet you.Ears swiveled around his head at the sound of paws. Vidarr had finally made his appearance, running in like a bat out of hell. But quickly stopped once he realized there was no real urgency. Vidarr, I'm glad you could make it.He gave a respectful nod to the older wolf, having a great fondness for the large male. It felt good to see him again after all this time. After everyone was gathered, and things settled down, the newest Pillar took the stage. It was time for some informing. Thank you both for coming. I called you both here to inform you of my temporary departure. I, along with Dalmatia, are leaving to Northfall to find out any more information on what's been going on.He did his best to keep the plague away from the little one's ears. It would not do well to burden their young mind with something so dark and horrid. Children shouldn't be worrying about such things, only learning and growing up to be fine wolves. While I am gone, I must ask that you both keep up with patrols around the territory while I am gone, and make sure that the pups are kept safe. We need to really stick together now with everything going on. I will be searching for the runes as well, stopping along our journey to see if we can find anything Nóttin let the news settle amongst them for a moment. It was hard to tell them, that of all times, now they were leaving the safety of Dawnbreak's borders. But it couldn't be helped. There had to be news of this plague outside of their home. Maybe even finding the runes to stop all of this from coming to pass. He looked to each next, giving a look of questioning and slight concern. Any questions for me and Dal? Any concerns?Better to get it out of the way now then to leave them high and dry. Then it was back to business, though not their usual. RE: Be My Eyes, Guard These Souls - Dalmatia - 6/5/2025 skill: herbalist Dark clouds hovered in the distant sky, heading for the Vale, which made Dalmatia shiver with worry. Of course, this had been a natural feeling these past few days. When they should have been happier days ahead; her recent engagement, spring's oncoming blossoms, the pups starting to get old enough to waddle around — some of the happiest days of her life. But the curse, expanding its roots, also soiled the blossoming flowers of life and hope for the future. It took only a little for Golde's golden fur to peek into view, shining underneath the bright sun. Something no, one of her pups, toddled along in between the new mother's legs. A bright feeling fell over Dal, a small glimpse into what motherhood would look like; poor Golde seemed exhausted and just about fed up with the child strapped to her body. Honestly, Dal wished now she'd visited sooner; maybe she could have gifted Golde some reprieve and watched over the pups. When she returned, she would have to ask her. The scout apologized for the little charcoal and golden bundle of joy. Dal put up a paw in front of her and waved it, motioning for her not to fret, Don't worry... I was hoping to see a few of your little ones before we left. She admitted after placing the bundle in front of her, paw atop it. Dal leaned down to meet the small pup's gaze when she asked her mother a question. They're helpful aids, little one. Some are like medicine for when you feel sick or... if you've ever scraped your paw, you can get certain herbs wet and lay them over your scrape and it'll feel better and clean over time. She explained, changing metaphors for the young pup. After explaining, she sat back up, leaning into Nóttin, and giving an assuring smile to Golde, I actually brought them for you... Some chamomile, raspberry leaves, and elderberries to keep you healthy. Vidarr caught the corner of Dal's eye and she turned her head, greeting him with a small duck of her head, Hello Vidarr. She hummed softly, settling herself by keeping Eidel busy while the adults talked. Would you like to try a berry? She asked, keeping her voice quiet, taking her paw off the bundle. |
