Nothing else is quite the same as how I feel when I'm at your side. - Jaxxon - 6/2/2025

Skill: Diplomat

Set 6/1/20205

It had taken them a while to return home, stopping and resting for a few days in the great woodlands and having quite the merry reunion with Mauve, a wolf he’d met in the throes of madness one night after some hardships with his brother…

His brother…

Joxer…

Sighing heavily the man lowered his head till his nose nearly touched his paws, his eyelids lowered nearly all the way with his sadness and The new Huntsman threw back his head. The winds whipped this night as they threatened a heavy storm, his fur twisting and turning against his body as the winds raged with a near whistle.

Heavy dark clouds blocked out any trace of the moon as a sound escaped his lips. He tried to hide his sorrows but in his message even he could hear the tinges on the edges of his voice, the way his voice wavered, the way his song was more melodic then it probably shouldn’t have been.

Joxer has gone… Vanished without a trace and I am to take his Place as Huntsman… It is not a mantle I wear with pride, but a burden wrapped in pain and silence... The woods still echo his footfalls…

Jaxxon would echo through the mountain peaks, through the trees and over the hills, past the rivers and across the streams. His heart heavy as his song would end, the tune slowly ending and his head would drop again.

He would expect nothing in return and honestly he’d be surprised if he heard a rise from the emptiness of his spires and crags. His den was an empty, lonely, place now with his brother gone… His lover… His soul... With Chiharu and Jada gone… With everyone gone and him alone in the den he could hear himself breathe in the silence.

One Is the loneliest number…

And as he felt his heart slowly sink within his breast, down to his stomach, he could hear the thunder rumble above, threatening tears, tears that he wished he could make fall, tears from the heavens meant only for him…

All thoughts of the rune and its meanings lost on him in this moment as he sat within himself and his thoughts.

Pollux knew that the others should be returning soon, so she's timed her patrol nearly perfectly, her paths taking her northward. It would be the quickest route to Warcrest, the easiest way to come home, so every morning she would walk, and every night she would return

The call finally arrived, the announcement of Jaxxon and his party returning, but the words were not what she expected at all....

Seems the man has given up on his brother returning at last, claiming the title of Huntsman.

Which left his old title of Overlord absent.

Alone in the woods, there was downright glee on her face as this opportunity fell into her lap, though she was quick to school it back before she threw her own head back in a responding howl. Mourning tones, though she herself wouldn't mourn.

She knows Jaxxon will, and she can play the devoted daughter well, and her sire may well need a crutch and a guiding paw...

Oh, what a wonderful day!

Now, to find where Jaxxon went...probably back to the family den.

RE: Nothing else is quite the same as how I feel when I'm at your side. - Ezra - 6/3/2025

It was not a joyous sound, the call of Jaxxon, his voice which let them know he and his traveling party had returned from their allies in the northeast. A place which Ezra had yet to visit. He was sure it would come in time, especially so given that his new position in this pack was as he had held in Northfall - guardian. Though he were guardian, he awaited the opportune moment for warrior. He had come down all this way for a little bit more fun among aggressive familiar wolves, after all, now that the best of Northfall's warriors had died in the year. It was sad for Northfall, yet not sad for the warriors, who may be celebrating among the gods, now.

Wars would have to wait.

This call was one of sorrow. Even if Jaxxon tried to hide it in his tone, his words stated otherwise. A postion taken in his brother's long absence, far overdue for return, apparently. Jaxxon would take the position with burden and grief. Ezra licked his lips, his thoughts lingering towards Pollux own and how this might come to benefit him. Yet he was young, he was new, but Kinsey blood ran in his veins. He would make sure everyone else knew that too.

He had made his way from the borders into the den he owned high up on the peaks and had settled his way into a laying position. He lay there solemn and quiet, alone with his thoughts, but he should have known better than to have thought he would have been alone long when the face of Polly appeared in the entrance to his home... His empty home...

He stared at her, quiet and stone still as he held back the emotions he knew would soon come flowing forth from his lips once she started to speak. A heavy sigh escaped his nostrils and he blinked slowly... Almost dead... He felt that way inside...

Every emotion he had swirled around him like a whirlwind, his words echoing through the forest, through his brain, as the heavy title of Huntsman lay on his head. Polly... He uttered deeply, lowly, after a few long moments of silence fell between them.

Thanks for holding up the fort while we were gone... He mumbled lifelessly, his thoughts drifting to the fermented berries he had stashed in the back of their dark cold home... His dark cold home...
