Every day they were away from Northfall, his steps felt lighter, a weight was lifting from his chest. But that also meant that soon they would part ways with Ezra, this was the middling point of their journey together, where Vitus and Elli would continue north east while their brother went south. These last days were...quiet, there was a finality to it that he didn't like.
But that was a part of growing up.
Of finding your place in the world.
It stung, but...they needed to do this. Vitus needed to, Ezra needed to, Elli was probably making sure Vitus wasn't going to get himself killed somehow.
His crows followed, his three leading a flock behind them sporadically with at least one of the leading trio on his back at all times, resting? Making sure the others would keep following? He didn't know, but the weight was a comfort too. Familiarity, in the lands he's only walked a few times before.
Somewhere around here was the lion's head he had buried for safe keeping, but that will be dealt with...later.
