The three choices that lay before them were dizzying, each path riddled with different intentions, auras whose colors were swirling. Aelia's brows furrowed and face tightened as she stared off into each of them, knowing that one of them held the truth for the twins. But was the truth... meant for them to know alone?
Even Amaris, in his own way, pondered this question aloud. And when he did, she heard how it sounded. They had never once been alone, in their entire lives, without one another. From the womb until the tomb. She was sure of it.
No.Her voice is a firm presence in the wary unknown, echoing through the corridor of the caverns.
We go together.Her lunar eyes shifted phases, until they reached her twin brother,
Like we always have.And leaning into Amaris, the touch of his fur was comforting, something she had always known — home. The same feeling she felt when looking into the middle path's shadows.
The middle one.Aelia stated firmly, unwilling to separate from her twin now as she hooked one of her front legs through his, nodding.
It feels right.Only when she leaned into him. Alone; she could feel the darkness pulling at her, picking at the frayed edges of her mind, the untethered parts of her. That was the last thing she wanted to confront right now. Maybe another time... But this was not about only her, but Amaris too. Something had led the both of them here.
