Even though there were two different, single paths beckoning the twins, they were interlinked, unwilling to go alone as they were always one — stronger together than apart. Surprisingly, it was not Aelia who first urged a step forward into the darkness, but Amaris.

Wherever it leads, I am with you.' Their linked forelimbs as they muddled through the darkness together, mustering the strength to find what lay beyond that great length. And I, with you. She promises in turn, to find her footing where it always had been, beside her brother.

'Always.'

Within the tunnel, a bright light glared, imposing, almost blinding. The further the twins crept, the heavier the air seemed. What could be misconstrued from afar as a source of light was really a reflection of it. Wandering through the carved tunnel, the familiar feeling of wetness tainted the cave's ground once more. All that filled their ears was from the waterfall in the background. Aelia's shoulder brushed against Amaris' squinting, trying to focus and understand what the light truly was. It wasn't until they breached the room that the pieces fully came together.

The tunnel widened into another cavern, tight in space. In the middle; water pooled, churning softly, what seemed uninterrupted by the waterfall. The moon's reflection bounced off of the water; a skylight opening up to let the full moon's glow pour in. It was breathtaking, enough to settle Aelia into a stop, staring across the water, where the darkness took hold and it was unknown how far the water truly ran. It took her a moment to find her words, but finally, she did, I... Do you think moms know this is here? She whispered, unable to shake the feeling that something or somethings had their eyes on the two of them.

There was a movement to the water, lapping in a small circle, swirling endlessly, and she swore, she could hear it beckon her, its tendrils lapping at her paws.

Amaris is allowed in any of Aelia's threads.
