Archon didn’t know what the future had in store for him, but he needed to have a plan. He needed to have a home stable enough, safe enough, for his children. Eidola had wanted to leave once, and he was trusting that her relationship with her mother had developed by now that she wouldn’t want to - in the however long it would take for her to learn to hunt on her own.
It was an excuse he’d told her; to buy himself time to get his shit together. To buy fable enough time to change her mind - would she? He hoped. What if Eidola realized he didn’t have his shit together? What if fable turned her against him?
He didn’t care, so long as she was alive.
And then the faintest hint in the wind, of his children. At this hour, though? He failed to notice how it was just two of them, but the timing - it was dark. He was trying to piece together everything: the border, the scents, the time - when the screams: one from Kyros, one from Eidola -
They were under attack!
Archon ran so fast he was sure that he left his fur behind, lunging forward through a couple of bushes, though stopping to the sounds of their giggles now, and spying on them from inside the bush and - blinking awkwardly as Eidola was calling her sister Momma and asking if it??? was a boy or a girl - what?
